all the boys & girls on the corner
play it cool.
shiny sequin tops with bright! pink stiletto pumps
waiting for their man to show up.
sugar daddy whats-his-name
pullin' up inside his escalade
feelin' the scene
and checking it [twice]
lookin' for the girls that look as sharp
as the needles he sticks them with.
paralyzed pinhole pupils stare back
from the crowd
looking for a crazy wild mixed up
sort of night.
because all the boys & girls on the corner
play it cool.
with their tacky makeup and jewelry as
gaudy as las vegas lights
faces botox shot and cut up with knives
[baby, its so tight]
pin-up baby doll princess please,
cover up the tracks leading up
your arms.
it looks as trashy as the streets you came from
& your as pretty as the girls on the movie screens.
but sugar daddy death wish will feed your veins
just enough to keep you that way
as a heroin trashy dirty pretty barbie doll
it only took one [prick] & you lost it all.
because all the boys and girls on the corner
play it cool.

This is great, the rhythm and flow fit the seen you are painting so well and the perhaps inadvertent play on words that pops in and out. I loved it. Keep it up.

This is the first long(ish) poem that I didn't have to force myself to read all the way through. Great flow and imagery. Beautifully written.
Love it.
