Floating in fields of awakening dreams,
visions of beauty before the sun’s rise,
peacefully grazing beside languid streams,
creatures of velvet nose and agate eyes.
Ethereal, they drift, as specters they were,
with jeweled eyes and sweet-clover breath
sensing my presence has set them astir,
they flee as if chased by a hound of death.
As they canter through fields of wild flowers,
dusty motes and pollen swirl as one,
they scurry beneath deep woodland bowers
shadows shying away from rays of sun
Night mares grazing, dark fields by a stream
such equine beauty you will rarely find
they always flee at the end of my dream
as new day raps on the door of my mind
covering my eyes to hold back the light
wild horses and me running in the night

This one is spellbinding!!! I love horses, waking or not I am bona-fide horse crazy! The imagery is fantastic, so real in fact I could dream the same dream now!!!

a beautiful dream brought to life by your wonderful words. There are few things as beautiful as seeing wild horses, it's sad there are so few left. A very entertaining read. Very well done.

I respond well to the interplay of shadow and light.
Here, you give night the magical power daytime's reality only takes away. Intertwining the freedom and flight of our dreams with the vision of wild horses
works well bringing out beautiful scenes as I read.
