This door has closed in my face,
And I am left staring at it in shock.
I never thought I'd come to this place
Where here is where I no longer belong.
You don't need me anymore, like you used to.
Now days I am just slowing you down,
Like some sort of rock in your shoe.
The thought hurts like none other could.
So I guess it is time for me to say goodbye,
And step to the side, my job here is done.
And as I watch you take off and fly,
I know there is another door waiting for me.
