Law, say the gardeners, is the sun
It grants its riches to the flower
Its gracious rays enrich the garden verge
When sun's light turns weak and cold
The garden pines and wanes
Waiting for the sunny beams
To wake to blooming life again
When spring returns, the garden thrives
Brings joy with every leaf
Lends the light of nature to the world

Good poem. You might like the original - much longer, but similar language in some parts. It's by W.H. Auden and here's a link to it.
