Round and round like a top on speed
relaxing back as strong arms lead,
yesterdays gone into the mist
losing count how many I've kissed,
swept into the future it's true
up above clouds to sapphire blue,
marble floor gleams dance after dance
handsome advances pure romance,
perfumes exotic fill my head
glancing below the road I tread,
dancing on waves dancing on sand
always surprised often unplanned,
around the world I twist and twirl
countries beneath my feet unfurl,
tango's salsa's heat of the night
arms hold me fast rigid and tight,
tasting tequila on my lips
sending messages with my hips,
dervishes whirling in my brain
belly dance action not in vain,
country to country on I dance
never leave anything to chance,
endless waltzes filled with desire
setting my thoughts and dreams on fire.

This poem tickled my fancy... And I am a huge Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, fan!!! I've got the bug bad and there's nowhere in hicksville (my town) to learn
I must join you in your fantastic dream, so move over and quit hogging the dance floor will ya? hehe! Loved this!

Ahthe romance of the dance, swirling you into places you wish to go.
And what a wonderful place to be.
I bet you watch Dancing on ice on a Sunday night LOl
Well written Hilly the rhyme is wonderful too, just like the perfect steps of the waltz.

Aaagh!! I myself am learning to dance!! Never cared for it before, but now I just want to dance my heart out!! I'd love to go waltzing... alas I must wait for my partner who is miles and miles away. At least I'll be ahead!! hee hee...

Perfect Hilly, I love dancing too and this is wonderful. Dancing round the world, how marvellous and some do who enter competitions all over the world. I find this poem exciting and it sets your imagination going for the dance and I swear you hear the music too.
