Smells coming from the kitchen,
smile on her face,
favorite dishes come out
after the day of preparation.
Love emanating
from the warmth of the meal,
Mom works so hard,
then to fill our stomachs
and rub our backs.
She reads a book
right beside me,
as we eat her warm cookies.
Sitting in front
of her whirring sewing machine
she stitches up another quilt
for a birthday,
a friend,
or a wedding.
Always working,
always a kind word,
always my favorite Mom.

Sweet poem. I'd be happy to be your mom!
It brings out feelings that say, 'yeah, my mom does that. Now why haven't I written her a poem yet?' I should get to that...
