I can still hear the waves crashing in the beach,
the children running around with the grins on their faces,
but it was you I can still see so clearly
you always stood by that rock,
staring over the waves,
your hands made little motions I don't think you were aware of.
I fell in love with you,
well the thought of you anyway
I never went near you but now I see,
The rock you stood by was a heart of stone for the one you lost.

There is a lot of depth in this piece. This one also echoes some distant recesses of my mind. Thank you for entering and good luck.

Very good take on the prompt... heartfelt piece... this poem is full of life... trace of sadness and deep affection is stuck to each line.. very good one to read from heart...
Good luck in the contest...
