My daughter took a step in the spirit today,
Oh how proud I was, and just let me say,
I called all the angels to gather around, I wanted them to see,
That my little girl is trying, and to get a glimpse of what she'll be.
It was just one step and then she fell, she worried what I would do,
But I picked her up and dusted her off, knowing tomorrow, with my help, she'll take two.
I comforted her with these words as I held her close, while she was crying,
I'm not troubled that you fell, I'm worried that you'll stop trying.
God knows your heart, your willing mind, that's enough, I'm not lying.
So child of the living God, don't ever despair, and please don't stop trying.
God's not counting how many times you fall, and then!
God's counting how many times you get back up and try again.

This poem has a special meaning for me. Those of you who have checked out my webpage at www.radiocountry.org, knows that I have a music career, when you turn your career completely over to God, He puts you through a time of preparation so that you can handle everything you will face throughout your career. God would show me things in my personality that needs to change or it could be my downfall. While I am learning to walk in the spirit, I offten stumble and tend to wonder if I'll ever succeed in changing. This poem is what God revealed to my heart.

Great symbolism! I loved the way you "became a child" in the poem, but still told it from His perspective!!! I also liked the way you used "a step in the spirit" to match your theme.
The poem explained in a unique way that we're still continually learning, and that we have to keep running 'til the end! Great messages!
