Mist and shadow
Clouding the warriors way
Treading till the end of time
Through death, till the break of dawn
And the worlds' alight
So that all may see his plight
Still he travels, ne're ending his quest
He knows that he may not be best
For fear that failure is his end
Steel and arrows, wood and flame
The battle ranges on to no end
He thinks of home and happiness
His motive for this war
Knowing he should be there instead
In his loving wife's arms
Their child he sees only in his mind
Though he knows he must fight
For the future of all mankind
The stars are his guide
The only light in the end
Life gone by, and now the afterlife he will tread
All he knows he repeats in his head
Resting peacefully, buried beneath a great tree
O're the years his body decays
Becoming part of the earth in which he lays
Knowing that now, like leaves in the fall
His body and memory shall fade
All shall fade, all shall… fade
