You said that leaving was a stupid mistake,
And you wanted me back again.
You said you wanted a second chance,
To see what we could have been.
You held me like there was no tomorrow,
And told me you wanted me in your arms.
You won me over as you broke me down,
Using that snake like charm.
You kissed me tender just like before,
And said she was nothing like me.
That she'd leave us alone-give it time,
So I sat as my heart raced patiently.
You told me you missed having my heart,
That she never loved you like I did.
She threatened me for being yours,
As you sat in your house and hid.
Please tell me now that you were joking,
She's not taking my place again.
Please tell me this isn't happening,
She hasn't weaseled her way back in.
Back into your heart,
And back into your mind.
Back to the place I once stood,
To the place she left behind.
I can't belive you're taking her back,
After you'd gotten my hopes so high.
You're letting me go once again,
Kissing my heart goodbye.

I love the flow and structure of this poem, really good rhyme is unfortunately getting harder and harder to find on AP. Not that there's anything wrong with freeverse, but I've always preferred rhyme... anyway... this is another beautiful and heartwrenching poem, you are truly talented.
