Bright Blue Crayon

You could be amazed,
By the smile on her face,
after eating that bright blue crayon.
After kissing a spot,
that not the brightest eye could see
Yet a smile would bring to her tears.

It seems like a onerous chore,
the cooking, cleaning, screaming,
that wives and mothers do.
enjoy that cup of coffee mom
You'll need it when I get though with you.

Does it end when they turn 5? or maybe 18.
I doubt you'll have such luck.
They say it gets worse...
That they come back home.

Does he stop playing his gameboy
When you go to the store
No not the kids, your hubby!
You love him though.

Wifehood and Motherhood,
2 worlds merge to form one.
Like the oceans-
Coming together.
Like the heat,
from the morning sun.
You will believe, and you will see.
Nothing could change,
Your love for those Husbands and daughters.

Author notes

Nothing could ever compare to being a Mom. Sometimes its a difficult journey, Motherhood. But its well worth it! Nothing could replace hearing the words "I love you mommy" coming out of your childs mouth. Nothing could compare to the fear and delight of your child taking their first steps... I wouldnt trade it for the world!

Congradulations on the Good News! You have never known fear, joy, anger, and astonishment as you will after your baby is born... I used to think I had felt true emotions before I had kids... Boy did they prove me wrong! I have a 3 year old Daughter, and a 2 and 1 year old little boys. They are my entire world (my husbands floating in there somewhere too) Good Luck! and if you ever need someone to talk to about it, message me!

thankyou for your poem it was absolutely awsome ! and your kind words in your an made me emotional lol might be due to hormones but thankyou the oem highlighted good and bad times of motherhood and thats good because mothers sometimes forget that having a baby can be a struggle but your poem executes that well and argues that it is well worth the pain for your child
    thankyou x

    My first thought was

"wow"... it's that simple and that complex at the same time.
This poem really made me smile and made me remember to look forward to the days ahead of me.... reminded me that there is more to life than work, college, writing, money, etc...
Thank you so much for this wonderful poem!
    Good luck in the contest!!!!

I wish I could have kids of my own so I could feel what you do. my father left me when I was still young so he wasnt much of a father. My mum does nothing but smoke and go out and take money from me. So I dont know what a real family is suppose to be like. My siblings do nothing but go out all the time so Im usually alone. Such things I wish I knew... This was a great peom. Best of luck to you with things and I hope things never turn out bad for you like they did me.
