Not so suddenly here
But oh, so suddenly gone
And I feel the weight and trials
Except when I think of Bubba
Marked now in stone
Not a mother’s choice for home
Yet the memories still bring smiles
When I think of Bubba
When metal sculpted steel
And when the church bells pealed
This separation is more than miles
But I think of Bubba
Someone so much a part of me
Is greater than a memory
Still living – tho’ death defiles
Once more, I think of Bubba
