The Root of Nana's Tea

Her dimpled pot
finds weight

in the mint bush
floating, beneath rust

I can't imagine for this particular prompt that you could have possibly put more imagery with such succinct and perfect lines. There's so much to like about this, but there is most certainly something I like most -- the realness of an image of a nana creating something so unique to herself that you've given to everyone through poetry.

Definitely deserved gold with this one...

I think this is a well-deserved gold. I think I like it better than the Red Wheelbarrow poem.

congratulations Stacey ... so very very nicely done ! ... i love the 'finds weight' ... it carries the whole and keeps it firmly entrenched (so to speak) ... it is no mean feat to establish that 'weight' in 16 words ... congrats on the gold! (Lovely piece) >>> Gina

This is so nostalgic. It's weird to remember something that never happened to you, which is exactly what happened when I read this. Nice.

I grow mint in my garden. I will take this there with me. It will make me warm.

A beautiful poem. Very reminiscent of the William Carlos Williams' poem! Congrats on the Gold.
