Bright yellow rays of sunshine
they illuminate your day
evoking warmth and happiness
an alluring flower bouquet
Their leaves are shaped like giant hearts
they stand so proud and majestic
with their faces raised to the Lord
basking in its glow - I find it poetic
Birds are feasting on their seeds
wrens and finches join the throng
It's not important how they sing
just that they share their song.
