no turning back

Missing image
without a word
she said all
there was to say-
her silence searing.

no words came,
I dared not reach out.
Her heaving back-
a fortress
I could not conquer.

Very clever with the dual meaning title...
Without a word she said all there was to say, silence combined with body language can speak volumes,

    bravo on this,

    LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE.....LOVE

love it, love the picture with it...i love the last 3 lines.

    "her heaving back-
    a fortress
    i could not conquer."

i can see the picture so clearly...a fight...the end, of something, the night or the love, a woman crying and a man unable to console her from that specific pain. i don't know what the prompt was, but i love this poem. i love that it can mean what i want it to mean to me.
    LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
