Here is where I grew up...
where I drank my first beer,
was dumped for the first time,
here's where I got rid of my fears...
This is home. The place I love.
The place I lost my very best friend,
the place where I was confused,
the place where life almost came to an end.
Went to my very first real party,
here’s where me and my friends broke the law,
this spot is where we almost kissed,
and there’s the building we watched all those movies we saw.
So many jokes and so many laughs,
but there’s been tears too.
Even after that I don't
want anywhere new...
But I guess life is full of
these things called goodbyes,
but to this place,
I will never cut my ties.
I love you Würzburg,
but I'm being forced to say:
...goodbye...
where I drank my first beer,
was dumped for the first time,
here's where I got rid of my fears...
This is home. The place I love.
The place I lost my very best friend,
the place where I was confused,
the place where life almost came to an end.
Went to my very first real party,
here’s where me and my friends broke the law,
this spot is where we almost kissed,
and there’s the building we watched all those movies we saw.
So many jokes and so many laughs,
but there’s been tears too.
Even after that I don't
want anywhere new...
But I guess life is full of
these things called goodbyes,
but to this place,
I will never cut my ties.
I love you Würzburg,
but I'm being forced to say:
...goodbye...

I used to live in Würzburg. I didn't like it back then. It was big. I've heard from a friend who still lives there that it's SUPER tiny now. It's better that way isn't it? Like a family?
Great poem. I liked it. Didn't flow too well in some places, but it was nice; emotional.

Oh hon.... Where are you moving to? Who knows, maybe in time you will make lots of new memories and you can always revisit your old home town.

This is such a sad write, I couldn't begin to imagine how hard this must be for you. When I was growing up, I luckily never had to move away, I won't admit that I wish that I had. But I think that if I did, I would be miserable. Try to think of the positive though hun, this will give you a chance to meet some new people, make some new friends. The ones that you have made in Germany will still be there for you no matter what. Good luck hun! (hugs)♥

Beautiful write...Very sad. I cant say I can relate to this since I have been born, and raised in this small town of mine and never moved. I like this write, though it is sad that you must move away rom your home...that can get very depressing and hurts alot I would imagine. Thank you for entering. the first lines really pulled me in and i felt this one. great job
