as I sit here on my
overstuffed chair I see her
in the kitchen
making hot chocolate
her eyes are so blue - crystal -
they anesthetize me her body
curves in all the right places
my head trumpets
when she glides into
a room she reads aloud
and makes me sweat, longing
for her scent on my shoulder
waiting for the hour she'll
realize that I am not
'just a friend'
I'm the one she cries on
when a boyfriend dumps
her over email or text
message or just doesn't
call
the tears linger on her face
before they land naive
on my blouse
