You’re forever putting yourself down.
You walk around with a fake smile to hide your frown.
I see the pain that you hold in your eyes.
Cause what I tell, you only think is lies.
Cause to me you’re a breath of fresh air.
And no matter what you say I won’t care.
Cause what I tell you is very true.
You’re beautiful and I mean it when I say that to you.
Your so sweet like sugar to my lips.
Your like a gentle flower to my fingertips.
I can’t go back on all I once said.
Cause the truth will always lay in my head.
Memories so clear of an angel so rare.
Don’t you know that I simply can’t help but care.
You’re not that easy to find in life.
And I’d give anything to take away all of your strife.
Cause you don’t deserve the pain.
I wish I could stop your rain.
But here I sit with arms so wide.
I’m here if you need me by your side.
You’re an amazing woman to come across.
Our friendship won’t part for it’d be such a loss.
Remember all these things I try to show and say.
Cause you prove them in so many of ways.
You’re a special person and I don’t want you to forget.
Know that all we’ve shared with each other I don’t regret.
It just draws me closer to someone so amazing.
You already know for you I’d do anything.
So I know it’s hard but please honey try to smile.
You got me here for more than just a while.
You will always be in my heart.
And I promise we’ll never part.
Cause no matter where I have to go.
I’ll make sure to let you know.
That way you don’t think I’m leaving and never coming back.
I wouldn’t do that even if we sometimes slack.
In making sure the other knows we’re still around.
Just know you don’t have to make a sound.
Cause I know you by just taking one look.
I can read you like your able to read me like an open book.

I chose to do option 4. I was inspired by the song 'Fall For You' by Secondhand Serenade. This poem was entered for the conest, but it's also for my amazing friend Maryann.

I'm glad you liked the poem. My friend has been having some rough times, and I figured I'd take the time and write something to show she's very special to me. The song basically makes me think of her each time I hear the line 'because a girl like you is impossible to find', it just makes me think of special our friendship is cause it's not like most of my friendships. So yeah, thanks for having this contest making me inspired to write this poem.
