my knowing eyes hunt a solitary prey of discovery
anticipation curls my tenacious claws of steel
predatory thoughts roam my feline mind
tense to kill, my muscles experience the thrill of a chase
as always, my prey yields to the innate power of stealth
sleek and calculating, I am a black pampered cat
the pedigree of ancestry roams my every catlike thought
elegant selected delicacies fill each imaginary dinner bowl
I live with humans who admire my tenacity and bloodlines
only my tail held high shows any sly emotion
and so my mind discreetly hunts a new victim
