My heart drops every time I hear another call your name
I close my eyes when I wake up and see it's all the same
My heart leaps out to reach you, never far enough to claim
I say the words but never do they quite honor my shame
My hands reach out against my will but never break my shell
I feel you pacing like a guard and break not from my cell
My breath won't still for long enough for me to cast a spell
I know you smile behind your mask and hate that you can tell
I close my eyes when I wake up and see it's all the same
My heart leaps out to reach you, never far enough to claim
I say the words but never do they quite honor my shame
My hands reach out against my will but never break my shell
I feel you pacing like a guard and break not from my cell
My breath won't still for long enough for me to cast a spell
I know you smile behind your mask and hate that you can tell
Author notes
A combination of myself and a roleplaying character.. it's a little difficult to explain where we meet and differ. But the inspiration starting in my life, and continued with a current situation in RP.
Write whatever you want.. but write me something?

I like the first line because i have feared losing someone and think that is how I would react if they had someone else.

A very interesting muse. I enjoyed the simple rhyme and how you created parallels between your own life and that of your alter ego. Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant writing here. The flow and the rhyme are superb. This is dark too, and you have poured yourself into this. Well done.

This is a brilliant piece of writing, I loved the last two lines in particular.
