Back to Children

At what age do adults revert back to being children?  Or do some of them every truly grow up?  I wonder if half of the people in this world have even graduated from high school (figuratively speaking).  In that sense, when do the games, and the stupid he said, she said bullshit stop?  Or does it ever stop?  Why is it that some people’s personal goals are to sabotage the lives of others, just to make themselves feel better at night?  Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this the kind of torture that we used to have to endure from the bullies at school?  What is wrong with people today?  What happened to strong moral beliefs and family values?  When did this world become a place that some of us fear to belong?  It seems like people will walk over anyone to get what they want these days, even their family and other loved ones.  Then they expect to apologize once the damage is done, and hearts have been broken, and expect all to be well.  When did this kind of behavior become okay?  When did these things become the normal acts of society?

Where did we go wrong?  Was it our parents, or their parents, or even their parents before them?  Can a parent teach their child to be so maliciously evil?  In most cases no, and that is definitely not their intention, but they will most likely receive the blame for their children’s ridiculous actions.  The fact of the matter is, it is not anyone else’s fault but your own for the way you act, or the person you are. 

We were taught in Sunday school to turn the other cheek when someone wronged you, and to forgive them.  What happened to being the better person and walking away?  When did people stop doing that?  When did revenge become so sweet, that we would stop at nothing to get it?  Why is everyone out to hurt everybody else?  When does it stop?

It will stop with me.  I am not much, but I can affect the lives of those around me.  I will be that better person.  I will raise my future children to love others and not to hurt them.  I will never be one of those people who tears down others to lift myself up.  When the time calls, I will defend what is important to me, but I will never revert back to being a child.
