i leave my cares behind.......

love is music and poetry
its what day dreamers
were meant to be

the broken hearted
the lost and found
those of us in pain

we make our way each
and everyday
with a riddle
or a rhyme

sometimes with a heart
that is heavy
from things that have
been left unsaid

the sounds of love and poetry
rings on inside our heads

a compulsion of sorts
to bring things out of the dark

only in written word
can we express what is deep
inside our hearts

the loss and the pain
when we find love again

its all in a riddle
and a rhyme

our secret language
that belongs only
to us who really know
the pain

without poetry
we would be lost
a place without color

a world without trust

in our world of poetry
there is no color or war

we are all equal
and without hate

here we live inside our
utopia

we all support our losses our strength's
and our pain

love and our world of poetry
times that are filled
with tears and yet

when we cry
our tears are the ink on the page
our hand is the heart that has been broken

your eyes are the gift
and your words

bring the peace of mind

now

i leave

my

cares

behind

Oh. This is a nice little poem that you have going on in here. You're words make you sound like you're just ready to burst from so much emotion if you don't let out in big mouthfuls. It's very cute and sweet natured. You did a good job of expressing yourself here.

That was the best part of the poem. I think everyone on here can relate because everyone has that one poem that reminds others of things that are going on in their lives and its truly inspiring. This was beautiful

    speechless

wow...that's pretty much all I can say right now. It seems like this poem came from an entirely different world. I was listening to NIN when I clicked on this poem almost by accident and had to shut it off. this poem is beyond beautiful. I'd like to pick some favorite lines but I read it again and I couldn't. But the lines that spoke the most to me were the first six: love is music and poetry
    its what day dreamers
    were meant to be
    the broken hearted
    the lost and found
    those of us in pain

incredible, I felt my heart twist when I read those and knew I was going to be hooked by this one. Beautiful job, thank you for writing this

I really like what you did at the end, the way that you laid out your poem, there were some beautiful phrases in here, however i found some of it to be slightly repetitive, this poem took too long to express what you were trying to say, when you could have summed it up a little quicker, voicing the same thing with the same effect, this is just an opinion. even still i found this simple, yet beautiful, great write!

what a sweet heart you are. When I saw the title I knew I had to read this but I had no idea it would read as if my thoughts had been given to you. I've been having a hard time expressing emotions the past few months since my mother passed but I knew that coming here and writing nonetheless would help me heal after a year of being gone.

I've not had such good luck in finding AP family or consistant friends as I wanted but still poems are friends. Your eyes have given me a gift. Every single word and line resonates in me, bubbles joy and hope. I especially love the first stanza though each is perfect.

This is MY NEW FAV Thank you hun Susan

Writing to me is a way of freedom, relaxation and expression! Literature is a gain when we cry

Yes that sounds like an author

This is very touching. I used to think that poetry was not something that I had any interest in it. I find it soothing. I dont write only about dark stuff, but writing keeps the dark stuff from overtaking me. You have expressed yourself well.

The title really reflects the rest of the poem well.
