You said that I deserved so much better than you, yet the game just kept going.
And I, the unwitting player, gave you my everything, my heart and soul.
You were just going through the motions.
It is probably better this way, but that doesn't make it any easier.
You were what my life consisted of, and I never knew until you won the game.
You were so entwined into my daily routine, that I never knew...
I simply expected things to stay the same, perpetuated in my stubborness and your inability to quit.
I know what it is like to be lonely now.
I have undeniably lost to you; you with all of the real-estate, board-walk and Park place, and I, stuck with the lowly electric company.
You were never very good for me, and you told me that.
And I never cared.
I just went on, believing that you were for real when you said the three magic words.
Little did I know, you were getting ready to fold up the board, and put away the paper money memories and start playing a new game with someone that you've beaten before.
I nearly impaled your head with that little metal doggie.
