Butterfly In The Dark

He sits there
Dark and brooding
His presence overwhelming

In a monochrome portrait

Of deep thought

Demeaning and tormenting

The person hidden within

Then he smiled

And the whole world

Lit up

His wings showed

A vibrancy shined through

And like a butterfly

In the dark

He soared

Enchanting the night

Author notes
