Toxic Humanity

How can we sit so still
and watch each day ooze through
the clammy fingers of The Hands
and coated tar of the Omega

We rose from the flames and mud
Only to swing the sickle
On our own Mother
To watch her bleed
Turning black and blue and

Fall from grace into smog
Metal monsters spewing
Toxic air kills us slowly
We scream to the sky
And it pours acid on our faces

Erratic storms of rage
Pushing the smoke down
Our lungs growing red and brown
Withered bodies open jaws to

Cough out blood into cement
To watch it soak in
Overgrown weeds of industry
Stretch beyond

The joints that crack
The sidewalk and dirt paths
Covered in poisonous fire
Why walk when you can burn

Author notes

The fact that global wamring is continuing and not many are pushing for more change is sad. I watch as my lovely home is slowly covered in pollution and the weather grows more erratic. There is no other Earth so unless we want to disappear, i suggest you all rise up and help protect our beautiful blue planet anyway you can

Please tell me what you think

Even something as simple as changing light bulbs to compact florescent can do a lot to halt the destruction of the planet.

Surely everyone can do at least that?

    Thanks for writing this.

        I can't say enough

about how important this is. I'll talk about it any chance I get. I've even put a bug in my boss's ear about greening our product. The planet needs us to take better care of it, and I do what I can.
