One and Two

The fortunate dismemberment,
of displaced mind.
As her body was set
to be bind.
Slowly her vision
began to whir
So she sat down
and looked in the mirror.
Never once
had she seen herself.
With each gaze she
saw less and less.
There were two girls
which were her.
One kind
the other cruel.

In her false realities
she could not escape
her own little world.
The golden mirror
on the ledge.
It became more
and more distorted.
She found herself weaker
beginning to crawl.
However in the end
all she did is fall.
Onto her small
yet fierce death.
Of the girl that was
two, but one at once.

Author notes

This poem is basically about Multiple Personality Disorder. People will as a defense build up several personalities. Around some people they'll act a way, and around other situations they act distinctly in a different way, as if it was an entirely different person...
