Poesy's return

The night is dark
Yet it feels clear,
I cannot sleep;
You live in here,
Inside my mind,
Inside my soul.
My heart, it trembles:
I feel you in all.

Moonlight, pale
At last you gleam!
Fill me with love
In every dream.
Aeons ago I soundly slept,
But here is love,
Unforced, in my pen.

So sad, it seems
The pain that poured
And lived in paper
Forever unstopped;
And when it was torn
Away from my chest,
I felt it kidnap
The poetry fest!

Yet here it returns
My soul's balm, my muse!
It's all and the same,
Has left me confused.
The crows aren't here
With glaring and spells;
The roosters are singing
And there are no bells.
The pain, it is gone!
The sorrow has fled!
And now it's you, love
Who dwells in my head.

It's all and the same,
It leaves us confused;
For love and pain are
But one, the same muse.
Love lost is disguised
Atremble in pain;
The blood now has dried
And new words are gained.

And the night, for once
It feels light and so sane.
You conquered my mind
And gave me words again.
For I felt that poesy
Would not return with thee;
Yet this greatest gift
I have ever received:
To love and to live!
Without losing what's best;
To love and to live!
And to finally breathe
With a claim to a smile,
And know I must not
Pay the ultimate price;
To know I can love
And that I can still write!
To know I can live
And my muse cannot die!
