the creaking boughs
of autumn wrought trees
battle pastel winds

Oh my god. This was only 18 words. It's absolutly FANTASTIC, and beautiful. Quite soft, and the imagery was astounding. I might suggest changing it to "autumn-wrought" but that's just my opinion... I feel like I have to pick out an imperfection in it, just because it's so amazingly wonderful. Congrats on the silver; it deserved the gold.

Such brilliance of brevity here. The imagery composed is truly poignant, and beautifully sad. The image itself goes along so very well with your words, leaving so much spoken, even aside of what is seen. Nicely done!
