With brilliant plumage they fly through the air
to view them in fight there is none to compare,
mating for life they rest high in the trees
you can't help but admire this life that is free.
Eating the fruit and seeds lying around
this beauty of nature surely wearing a crown,
such delicate life leaves me filled with much awe
right now in this world I can see not one flaw.
I know that they're there but God's creation gives hope
with these thoughts in my mind I am sure I can cope,
each morning they land on a tree near my door
as I silently watch their surroundings explore.
It's hard to remember a world that's in strife
when I'm surrounded with visions of pulsating life,
early morning and evening when light is opaque
I try to take time to put on monotony's break.

What a lovely picture of this bird, great poem to accompany it as well - liked the flow, rhythm, rhyme in these lines; the message is a good one too. These birds can make life a bit easier just by having them around.
