Inside a golden day
Look at the children play
Don't take this away
The birds up above
They touch with a simple glove
And sip all the love
Making believe
Do you want us to leave?
The sand runs through the sieve
But the noise distracts
From these first two acts
In which all the facts
lie
Look at the children play
Don't take this away
The birds up above
They touch with a simple glove
And sip all the love
Making believe
Do you want us to leave?
The sand runs through the sieve
But the noise distracts
From these first two acts
In which all the facts
lie
Author notes
OK, so I'll admit, I didn't really write this today. I wrote it a while ago. And I just kinda decided to enter it in this contest.
I like this poem. I wasn't so sure about it at first, but it's quite interesting, I think, and speaks to me.
Plus it's a little strange, which of course I like. It's also... agh, I can't think of the word. I'll think of it eventually.
