love and pain from the past etching a place.
From deep within many paths lead me along
experiences learned have given some wisdom.
Been cherished beyond measure, blessed with heavenly union,
also bled dry from withering grief.
These two extremes and all in between,
have left both scars and sunlight in waves of recall.
This jewel box holds all that I have become,
fed by rivers flowing through so many mountains.
Enlightenment walks hand in hand along the path of knowledge,
this is my heart, in all things this is me.
Author notes
(10 - 20 lines)
The CONTEST PROMPT:
"My house says to me, "Do not leave me, for here dwells your past."
And the road says to me, "Come and follow me, for I am your future."
And I say to both my house and the road, "I have no past, nor have I a future. If I stay here, there is a going in my staying; and if I go there is a staying in my going. Only love and death will change all things."
