"stupidity lies in seeking,"
says the pessimist.

"Stupidity exists, yes,"
says the realist

The optimist says nothing
because the optimist is dead.

"There's beauty in everything,"
  not sure where to stand

what is now
                 feeling

what is now
                 existing and stupid

overused drum beat sounding like overused words

not 'feeling' like 'talking'

the overused apology with overused cradling

the pessimist and the realist
the democrats and the republicans

 none of it matters here

wanting to know more of your point of view
told me
now i want the dead to shut up
same time wanting
to speak up

facts and realizations
making it too real
stopping with the pronouns
the explaining
going back to the way it used to be

meaning to get back to
being interesting
stopping
the editing
i do not enjoy
allowing you
to comfort me

codependence

Author notes

in response to the drug
in response to being brought

in response to everything self centered
in response to

"i get it. i will get used to it."

i really am fine.

I love the feel of this, kind of fed up with it all and everyones opinion, aye? Great skepticism well-written.

I was sure I'd read this one before, and the beginning was familiar, but the end and the author's note weren't. Perhaps I got half way through and had to rush off somewhere, or perhaps I'm just imagining things, but did you edit this significantly after posting it?

Whatever the case, this is brilliant, cynical and overwhelming/ed. I've been here more times that I care to admit.

    "The optimist says nothing
    because the optimist is dead"

    Wonderful.

The author's note is like an extension of the piece, or like another piece in itself, too. It's brilliant in its own right.
