The days of light now shrouded in black,
Doused out eternally; never to come back.
Constricted in a corset suffocating faith,
Transparently residing, a newfound wraith.
A spider-like essence spiraling downward to the floor,
Lace intricately woven into what was a romance, no more.
The storms thundered to the vanguard of each new day,
Casting a lightning spell to cloak you who must pay.
A great tremor resonates throughout the air and the earth,
To a brand new rage our evils presently give birth.
Creating a canyon perpetually separating me from you,
Graciously allowing me to whisper my final adieu.
I now burn the love notes that contaminated my heart,
And throw them into the chasm as the flames tear them apart.
The embers flutter to the bottom scattering ashes in the wind,
Symbolism of a cremated romance, to which I’ll never again bend.
