Across these border lines
Into the waters of the sea
Follow the sun and answer to your heart
Keep it rythmically in beat
There are people there who are starving
Who are wounded at the knee
Small children who keep calling---MOMMY
Small children who do not receive an answer
Where death is all around you
The faintest little smell will tell
Those who can not walk or even see
A brainless memory
Time has shown us no mercy
A wounded perhaps; plea
Digging up the graves of 4042 just this week
In the corner by a tree with no limbs
The brutality of this land for any man or woman to see
It bears a story none ask of and few live to tell
How these people came to be so tortchured
Disease ridden animals all around
You can hear many coughing
Like the plague was unfolding once again
The doctors finally arrive and promise to find a cure
For very little hope they sound very sincere
The diagnosis finally comes
A word I'll never forget in my life
They spoke it very quickly
It's that feeling like your skin is breaking
Your heart breaks thru your chest
They said hon I'm sorry to tell you, but you've contracted
AIDS

This is absolutely beautiful. In fact, it was so wonderful I wasn't even bothered by the misspelling of the word "tortured." The flow is even and there are no awkward lines. I could see and feel the pain you described and the reality of the terror that surrounds so many people. Beautiful, beautiful piece. Please keep writing. Thank you so very much for your entry.
