I want to sing once more .....says the Solitary Reaper

Reaping and singing by myself
oblivion to any passer by
I was working alone that day,
I didn't realize when you
The master of verse
silently strolled away.

You heard me sing and later said,
in the poem you wrote for me that
nightingale and cuckoo were put to shame,
Though my voice traveled
across the seas, it was your poem
that brought me so much fame.

I don't remember now what I sang
it could have been some old, far off thing
it could have been about joy or pain,
May be a humble lay or a love song
but it came from my heart for sure
and from my heart it will come again.

My songs and my sickle
united to form a rhythm
and then words just flowed,
The wind played the music
as it rustled through the leaves
to reap when I bowed.

I wish you would stroll once again
mount up the same hill and as
it was my music that your heart bore,
In the same thrilling voice
for the person who gave me a name
I want to sing once more.

its a tribute to the master poet from the solitary reaper and she wishes to express her gratitude by wanting to sing once again for him.

i wanted each stanza of my poem to correspond to each stanza of his poem (barring the second last, which describes her song and music)...i hope it does!

    I am left spellbound

YES.. Especially the last line just swept me off and u have literally paid a glorious tribute to the poet of all times.. It was as if the reaper herself spoke here and for poetry's sake.. let us imagine this to be written by the reaper herself and sure, our poet would recognize her sincere yearning to sing for him once more..

Thank you very much for the time.. I applaud u!!
