"Two tickets and an evening together
Couldn't have been more perfect weather
Slowly walking side by side
The set-up was just right
The wise old peddler to your left quietly cautions
About the dangers of the maiden's loose concoctions
His maiden twists her golden hair
And winks at the young man as if to dare
For him to come a little closer
The voice of the old peddler on his mind still plays..
while he watches this maiden a little less than amazed
The audience applauding while she's skillfully plotting
to snatch your purity tonight
Seduction has you under her snipe
Perfect motion
Look at her dance
Watch as she wins you over at first glance
'Oh, Jezebel, you're too close to him
take a step backoff all the looks you sell
you're promoting a lofty image of yourself
Promiscuity don't promise you any
More than a hard fall
With a chest that full
Of nothing more than pride
Yes, you'd be a fool to provide
A place for sin to lie
What happened to your pretty smile
Replaced by lustful lips so vile
Stumbling brothers around you crawl
Even the strongest hearts can fall
What are you doing to yourself?
Why did you place your virtue on the shelf?
Your beauty is trapped behind that veil
Your prince shall run before he hails
His knee will not bow
Scorn will glare from his brow
He will keep waiting until he's found
A princess to match this sacred crown
He's saving for that special day
He won't tamper with your loose parade
He's not flirting with your loaded gun
He's running fast away
From the *bunny* of Babylon
No more does he look upon her face.
When first he believed
Your beauty was unmatched
time cracked your shell and uglyness had hatched
Seduction is no match for Purity
He sees right through your insecurity.
Love is respect
And your hand he won't touch
No more can he watch
At first glance was too much.
For purity is carved deep into the mind of this man
He won't eat the bitter fruit from your wayword hand
He repeats wisdom the day throughout to stay strong
He can't hear your candy-covered song
Not at all, not at all,
As you dance
He stands tall
he spins you out
Watch your fall
For he won't be there to catch you, no doubt.
You had your last chance
At first glance.'"
Proverbs 7 - Dressed to Seduce
1 -5 Dear friend, do what I tell you; treasure my careful instructions. Do what I say and you'll live well. My teaching is as precious as your eyesight—guard it! Write it out on the back of your hands; etch it on the chambers of your heart. Talk to Wisdom as to a sister. Treat Insight as your companion. They'll be with you to fend off the Temptress—that smooth-talking, honey-tongued Seductress. 6 -12 As I stood at the window of my house looking out through the shutters, Watching the mindless crowd stroll by, I spotted a young man without any sense Arriving at the corner of the street where she lived, then turning up the path to her house. It was dusk, the evening coming on, the darkness thickening into night. Just then, a woman met him— she'd been lying in wait for him, dressed to seduce him. Brazen and brash she was, restless and roaming,
21 -23 Soon she has him eating out of her hand, bewitched by her honeyed speech. Before you know it, he's trotting behind her, like a calf led to the butcher shop, Like a stag lured into ambush and then shot with an arrow, Like a bird flying into a net not knowing that its flying life is over.
24 -27 So, friends, listen to me, take these words of mine most seriously. Don't fool around with a woman like that; don't even stroll through her neighborhood. Countless victims come under her spell; she's the death of many a poor man. She runs a halfway house to hell, fits you out with a shroud and a coffin.
