Monday's filled with Stars, Songs and Something other than Me

"I  was lying in my bed last night,
staring at a ceiling filled with stars

and suddenly it hit me,

I just have to let you know how I feel"

Upon my mind
there are pictures
that I have collected
throughout this journey of me

I am a traveler
who burns a path
along the crumbling roads
muddied tracks
washed away to thickened moss

seek mind-bending photographs

fuel this body
this heavy peat

the will fires my soul
there are aches
bruised indentations
of hands and mouths

where words have been spoken
in love
out of love
and because of it

all loved

distances

discarded

all energies are permeable
osmotic tales of how I came
to be this wretch of a poet
now writing of you

symbols scatter dreams
a process of clocks
ticking backwards

time travels in zones

addresses of angels spin the skies

fractured hands
lodge inside sectional scars

fingers tremble
across and feel every inch
bump and curve

delicate imbalance

because
I have loved

I- wow. Beautiful. Damn- I'm too speechless; but I have such a lot to say... the title is amazing... love the ceiling with stars

sigh, Gilly... this one, I'll keep this one close to my heart. Because, I can easily understand this piece; because I too have loved, just like you.

So much in this poem...and it all because of love, of having loved...and you, my friend now know of what you are capable of...depth few people have seen...

this is beautiful, Gilly - just like you
    Congrats on the gold...so well-deserved!

    Oh, so gold.
There are times I think that's why stars are put there, for us to gaze upon and reflect upon ourselves; our journey, our wishes, our losses. Every 'bump and curve.'
I loved this, wished I'd written it.

I consider the tattoos I have collected from love and love lost just pieces of this puzzle that isn't quite complete. Sometimes they hurt more than other times, but those ones, they have a special meaning, don't they?

They stretch and grow with us, just like the elastic on these Evil pants that keep our heads above the water when that is all there is. Too much water, too much salt, and so much time to think it into life again.

    (psst..love your book of days)

thanks for the pleasure of reading this. i have started to think "telling" was all i would get from this contest[most of them are telling me so]. this poem is powerfully executed. shows how "balnk" the character feels through vivid imagery and sublte phrases.

i liked the song inspiration you used as well. you have done a fine job. thanks for entering. good luck.

Ceiling full of stars reminds me of a kid's bedroom and those great glow-in-the-dark stars you can stick onto the ceiling.

This feels so cynical in some way:

    "bruised indentations
    of hands and mouths

    where words have been spoken
    in love
    out of love
    and because of it

    all loved"

This feels like being beaten, somehow .. because of love, of course.

But the "traveler" makes it feel like a journey, rather than a conclusion.

    Very descriptive

of physical traits to emotional scars. We are all scar more or less and can appreciate this well.
