The Crab

Waves

    corrode the metal crab;

saline eyes, decaying,

shut in meditation. Persistence

finds its own strength and reason

like love- an unfortunate net, cast

in the ocean

secreted by testicles

of an adolescent sea-horse,

spit by the fish's choking gills,

oozing from saturated seaweeds,

running from the talons

  of the resurrected crustacean.
