sleep soundly son
parachute pillowed thoughts
let loose
from seams of dream time
as I reverse
the push and pull
of polarity
swerving
to catch in the curve
of hips that gifted birth
the grace of your life
is not lost to me
nor indeed
will it ever be
without bounty
all seasons
and all that seasons
is where we meet
in memory
never ever look
anywhere else
this heart-shelf
is where you are sacred
safe for eternity
eighteen ever more

A very difficult subject to write but you have done a beautiful job. There are some wonderful thoughts here. Good luck

"the grace of your life
is not lost to me"
Nice - to think of someone having a beautiful existence - even if known by few or one - is still a valid apprasal
this line speaks to me as I'm sure it does to Ellan

I had a peek at TexasMomma's page, and I remember reading it some time ago. My heart took a dip at this time of the day. I also thought [most probably again] how much can one person endure! Your poem is a tribute, and one that flows with sensitivity. Thank you that I once again can thank the Lord for His blessings.

Well done poetess. The bond between mother and son is (or should be) unique/incredible. I can't imagine her loss. God bless.

I just can't imagine the pain of a loss like this...
But you have captured the true essence, and depth of a mothers love. Beautiful.
