The Science of Insanity

Lost in my toxic, plutonium dreams,
drowning in these evanescent screams,
i see the platinum world beyond,
but behind my titanium walls, it might as well be gone.
liquid skies of mercury,
no sunny skies return to me.
Thin sheets of aluminum cloak my world in grey,
overdosing on chlorine, i try to take the pain away.
yet still, the sulfur and brimstone remain:
this multi-leveled radioactivity is insane.
i sing myself helium-filled songs,
something stupid like a tin lullaby.
This is how it goes:
oxygen breeds truth, carbon only lies.
The grass. The flowers, the nitrogen trees,
all the secrets of Eden lie in their leaves.
Unlike (of course) our world today,
with sodium- filled corners on streets,
people singing along with “Lithium'”s beat.
Silicon alleys and an all-time low
like the leaden dreams and raindrops
falling ever-so-slow.
Crashing to this neon world below.
Tinted with arsenic, and boy, does it show.
So dependent on our golden idols,
we beat the granite rocks 'til they bleed,
then wonder why, as we cry
when our saviour turns into the distance,
only to recede.
Isn't it amazing? This periodic delerium.
Almost as obscure as something like Meitnerium.
Disturbing cooper idols take their place.
You can read it all over the useless coin's face.
Iron clad soldiers, deployed into the sky.
On winged chariots, at dawn, they will fly.
Only to be brought down
by krypton-wielding spies,
Brandishing outlandish, astatine tasting lies.
This is my universe:
nothing but lightless photon,
clouded in immobile electrons.
The prospect of absolute zero
drawing nearer every day.
i want to slip into a potassium sanctuary
and dream it all away.
No such luck, again i am denied.
This forced, atomic-scale march,
this is where i am doomed...
to die
