Walking with the Dead

From the age of four years, I walked with the dead.
My mother thought it was imaginary friends instead.
They came when asleep or awake, giving me advice
and messages to take.

Some I knew, that had passed on,
others were strangers looking for the way home.
Some only wanted to be recognized.
Some had not realized they had died.

One in particular, was from another dimension
for he grabbed outward for suspension.
He came from beneath my bed,
grabbed me by my leg instead.

I was not frightened, just lay quiet,
as he went on his way, out of sight.
He was bald and naked except at waist.
Pale, greenish skin with black slacks.
I surely, don't want him to come back!

This doesn't seem to have a consistent rhyming scheme and I think that it hurts the flow. Some of the stanzas rhyme, some do not.

      To Ringside...

I see what you are speaking about but this is my own technique of freestyle writing..I don't intentionly make it rhyme, thats just the way the words come forth..I do thank you for commenting on it and will try to watch out for that next time.. Blessings to you!

that is unsettling, though I guess if that is all you've known your whole life, you can be accepting of it. You example actually reminds me of the funny children's story by Dr. Suess about the pale green pants.

Thank you for your comment..although it doesn't seem strange to me because I was taught by my Choctaw relatives, that seeing beyond was a great blessing given to those who recieved these visions..but that is my interpretation..Niaish
