tangled up in all that's left of you
i ponder implosion and eternity
and what's really beyond the veil, love,
can you hear me?
& thank god i've got a god to pray to
i knew i called you angel for a reason, i knew
and you've sprouted your wings
you're watching me
watching your daughter, windswept hair,
a smile like yours-- she doesn't know
why daddy's not at home,
but all those years ago
when i put your ring on my finger
i created a line like diamond wire,
a lifeline of sunlight,
now you breathe through me,
live, feel, know, remember--
& i tell you to live through me,
to watch with my eyes
and my fingers tingle
as i feel you and
i know some part of you
still lives within me

due to your Authors Notes I question if this is a creation for the contest or factual moment. Either way I love your heart in the moment and thank you for your entry into the contest. My heart believes this to be true for I too live a diamond connection. Her name Althea was known to me as Mia for I called her my innocent angel. Peace in light and love. Be well.

it's a factual moment.
I just wish I could capture it better. That's what I meant by trying to write a better one.
people may think I'm crazy... but I believe...
I called my love 'angel' all the time... little did I know...

hmm, i like this. its a very different take on the subject than i was expecting. dwelling on a love one lost , it would seem, is never as fulfilling as giving them eternal life through ones self. nice write

Poignant and tender. They live on this plane in more than our memory. They live on in who we are.
