Why is the dark so scary?
What fills me full of dread?
And why is it always dark as hell,
When it’s time to go to bed.
I take the stairs two at a time,
there’s darkness all around.
Although my eye’s can’t see a thing,
My ears pick up a sound.
I race to my bedroom “The thing” at my heels,
Can anyone know how this really feels?
Quivering, shaking and all tense inside,
Blinding panic for a place to hide.
I jump under the duvet, my eye’s scrunched tight
But my ears are still open wide.
Only one thing can save me now,
I’ll place a finger in either side!

No stars but 5 pretty little cockle shells. -
