Doubt

Insects infested
In the apple of my actuality.

Blue, braided polypropylene
Burrowed in my bread basket.

Precipitation plummets in perfect discord
To the chequered cover where I pause, dismayed.

Author notes

29 words

The food references weren't planned in the beginning, just happened and just show that doubt is no picnic.

Insects - that niggling feeling one gets
Apple of my actuality - heart

Blue, braided polypropylene - rope (ie. knots)
Bread basket - stomach

This poem reminds me of a great gift with awesome wrapping paper. That's a silly comparison I know but I loved this poem. Great job!

Love. Love. Love!!! Seriously this is really good, especially all your alliteration. What I love about your poetry is that is always seems like it's from a poetry book and not just some nice little bits that someone just put down in a specific way.

I've become obssessed with techniques and abstract images since reading Plath. Glad you love as I haven't written in a while, at least I know I've still got it. Whatever "it" is...
