Prosper

Do what you like in life because its way too short.
The ball is in your hands, the whole world is your court.
Now it takes money to make money I know its hard
coming up from nothing with a daddy behind bars.
And if your blessed with a good start don’t piss it away
in order to prosper tomorrow you need to seize today.
Live every day like its your last but prepare for the next,
keep your distance  from the drugs and unprotected sex.
Don’t become a statistic and have no trust
for anyone or you’ll wind up testing HIV plus.
Live your life with a clean conscience and no regret,,
don’t resort to crime just to get out of debt.
Too many people stop trying and start pushing the weight
just to keep a shirt on their back and food on their plate,
because thanks to Bush the unemployment rate is sky high
but you’ll never get a job if you don’t apply.
I know its hard but its better than you having to try
to explain to your baby girl why your saying goodbye.
An honest life is tough.  Minimum wage is unreal.
But it’s a lot worse being in jail on intent to deal.
Live life for yourself and don’t count on a prayer
you’re not gonna win the lottery and be a millionaire.
You have to do it yourself and pave your own path.
If not for you, do it on your family’s behalf.
