Lunchtime...seaside.

Death suddenly appeared,
in all of its horrifying visage,
near the wallow of a toddlers footsteps.
She had fallen between waves,
on her bottom along the shore,
and the suction of the tide
held her for just a second to long
as another huge wave approached.

Her vigilant mother sitting nearby
ran up and snatched her
in a split second grab,
as a brutal wall of water,
chased them back to dry sand.

But as it receeded her mom looked back
and she saw what could have been,
terrible tragedy refracted in the waters,
she saw what had just missed its chance
hands on its outraged face in frustration,
its ravenous hungers not appeased.

It slipped into the body
of a tiger shark,
and eagerly took the leg
from the thigh down,
of a young teen surfing,
three miles up the coast.
He bled out before
they could get him to shore.

"Death is the master of diversity, tread carefully amongst his many opportunities."

Ok, what the hell I wanted a nice romantic picnic, not toddlers drowning!! Artis! I'm going to write another poem for you...how it should be.

Blissful and Artis went on a picnic,
where Artis fed Blissful strawberries and whipped cream.
Where Blissful lay on Artis chest, listening to his
    chest pound.
Blissful talked about their fantasy life,
and Artis chuckled - knowing it would never happened.
    All in this fantasy dreamland.

See now isn't that delightful! Oh and the clappies are for me, because I made a wonderful poem, and you're drowning babies. *winks*
