Daily Walk From Work

Hundreds of cigarette butts blanket
The sidewalk edges
It's hurts me
Especially knowing I contributed
To a lot of them in the past

As I pass the bus stop
Cautiously avoiding the
Broken glass of beer and vodka
Potentially cutting my feet
Cars hurrying to their destination
Unaware of the strolling pedestrian
Right in front of them

The litter and drivers
Making love to their mobile phones
Weaken and rape our Earth
However, the sun and breeze
Make the brisk walk well worth it

How right you are my friend, you have really expressed the truth well. Man is man's worst enemy and a real danger to Mother Earth. One day she will get her revenge I am sure. Great job.

You were able to stop smoking? How? Do you always walk without shoes? I do, especially in the summer time.I loved the imagery of "drivers making love to their mobile phones", the cause of most accidents today! I am really into to greening our earth. Organic soil for scrap food inside. Mulch pile outside. Recycle everything I can! Sometimes I'll stand in the middle of our quiet neighborhood, when a car is speeding by, and MAKE then stop. Then they get a tongue lashing. If my dog had run out in the middle, she would have been killed! Gosh, do we think alike. And I love how true to yourself you are, by writing these wonderful poems!

I get the mental picture of every city and town sidewalk I've ever walked down. Places with so many people it makes you wonder what they're all doing there and how they can treat the city they live in so badly. Great descriptions and delivery Wa Wa.
