Dripping Memories

I love to sit by the window
And stare at the wide patio;
Remembering soaking stories
Cherishing dripping memories

Of singing and dancing wildly
Spinning under the rain madly;
Forgetting all my dry worries
Cherishing dripping memories

For raindrops washed away my tears,
Lubricated my rusty gears;
Now I’ve unlocked my mysteries
Cherishing dripping memories.

I love to sit by the window –
Cherishing dripping memories.

Author notes

A Kyrielle Sonnet consists of 14 lines (three rhyming quatrain stanzas and a non-rhyming couplet).
Just like the traditional Kyrielle poem, the Kyrielle Sonnet also has a repeating line or phrase as a
refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the Kyrielle Sonnet
consists of only eight syllables. French poetry forms have a tendency to link back to the beginning
of the poem, so common practice is to use the first and last line of the first quatrain as the ending
couplet. This would also re-enforce the refrain within the poem. Therefore, a good rhyming scheme
for a Kyrielle Sonnet would be: AabB, ccbB, ddbB, AB -or- AbaB, cbcB, dbdB, AB. (shadowpoetry.com)

    Beautiful form and message. Nice flow to the lines, sometimes hard to achieve in form poetry..well done.

    I wouldn't be able to live without my memories. This piece reminds me not to turn too "dry" about things... don't know how else to explain so borrowing your comparison as it works well here and for me too. + Nice job with the sonnet structure ^^

    Good muse here

    As we look out the windows and dream if one can notice their reflections looking back they see the beauty of the young girl that once was and then they focus and return to reallity knowing memories never age
