I want to write
one good poem before I die:
something that will stir
the turgid bones of complacency
and add a grain of truth
to our dwindling storehouse.
I seek fellowship with
the philosophers of imagination,
so that I may emerge from the forge
of poetry, no longer an apprentice.

As another has said, I'm not sure poetry ever graduates its apprentices, as we're always learning and striving to improve. That said, you've accumulated a long list of "good poems" that have added value to those fortunate enough to read them. This is another. Very well written.

Pack Your Tools and Make Haste!

Go, and seek Thy Fortune.

Yes brother! I believe poetry is designed to make others think. It should tell of philosphy. But we will always be apprentices as doctors are always in practice. You hit the head with this one, brother. One.

I think you have already past the apprentice level. This is written by a skilled poet. Good luck in the contest

You're fishing, Bill

This is a nice piece. I would say good luck in the contest, but I'm in it myself
So may you do at least as well as I do.

Bill
This may be new news to you but you always write good poetry. You always leave the reader wth something to think about and unlike myself you never just ramble. You have done it so live wih it lol
