The Twilight Accord

Photobucket

Behold the damned and blazing skies of my reliquary,
I wear the mask of millions driven to divide and conquer,
I peer through diamond eyes misbegotten of the divine
Witness my psychosis and a bladed thesis of irony

I see your darkened colours breathing forth into the emptiness
Gaze upon my light and feel my angelic whispers flow
My shining aura will envelope your stoic misgivings
Pearl like skin and sapphire eyes will draw you to my warmth

Ahhh but the light you shine hurts these eyes so used to shadow
In its pure glow I witness my own ugliness and bow my head
The slight thaw in my frozen heart burns bitterly sweet
I dare not touch least I leave my taint on your incandescence

Your frightening radiance withers many hearts in is sheer horror
Yet I am drawn to you in all your vicious glory, my dark lord
Aching to touch your emptiness and fill it with all my grace
Bow your head not, but lift your eyes to my wonder… come to me

Will you follow me down the dark and twisted paths of my malaise?
And dwell with me here in this barren dreamscape harsh
I will come and you will not remain untouched by my blight
I fear you will wither in the darkest aspect of my power

Follow you I will into your minds nightmare seemingly inescapable
For my radiance is glory fierce and darkness cannot tempt it
Nor shall your power excite it to wither a slow demise
Embrace me now; feel sweet splendor surround your mightiness

In the presence of my grim visage you just shine ever brighter,
And to my dismay I am like the moth, though dark and deadly,

In shadow you surround me, your seething dark pours through me
Fanning your flame to ember, my magnificence blends into you

I realised then that I was missing something, that I was but half
Seeing now my brightness was absent a subtle darkness to complete
In twilight streaked and clearing skies two become one and whole
Melding into harmonious accord, luminous angel and dark lord

Author notes

This is a collaboration with my good friend Jamie (Ravensdark). He is a masterful dark writer, and we decided to do a piece that was about darkness and light trying to blend into harmony......

He being the dark, and I the light...

That is clever...two different colors for what you wrote. Never thought of that!

Awesome collab...you owe me one Someday...

Okay...love the word 'Behold' as the first one. It's so legendary & pretentious--fun!

"diamond eyes misbegotten of the divine"
    Holy hell...that's some description.

    "stoic misgivings"
    Nice phrase Jacks.

    "my dark lord"
    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Lord Voldemort anyone?

    "taint on your incandescence"
    Damn. That guy is GOOD.

    "minds nightmare"==>mind's nightmare

"excite it or wither a slow demise"
YowZA. Good line! Love the word 'wither'.

    "my magnificence blends into you"
Gives me a feeling of insignificance...and significance. Cool!

    "harmonious accord"
    Say that 5x fast.

    Cool collab.

    Good luck

Wow. This is such a wonderfully prolific piece of thought. The two of you weave brilliantly together these shades to contrast. Powerful imagery and depth to alight the page with a certain fury, only to be softened by such delicate grace. Beautifully done!

    Brilliantly-Written

That was stunning in the extreme. Very well-written by the both of you. You compliment each other so well in this written partnership.

Imagery was dark and powerful, yet sensual at the same time. There was indeed, love there as well, [all be it a 'dark' love] but love all the same. Wonderful writing here.

Well done the both of you on this.

I love it. This was so interesting. But that really doesn't seem a fair word for this... interesting could mean, original but not good... nor captivating... and this was indeed all the above and much more... I can't even express how much I loved this... I could go on and on... but I suppose I'll just assure you that it was kick ass and leave you with an applause!

    Brilliant

Such a clever collab. I loved the way you start out as separate entities. Dark versus light. Evil versus good. As the poem progresses the separation gets smaller, until you merge and win the darkness to you. This is the finest collab I have ever read. THank you for sharing a rare talent!

Outstanding! Beautiful blend, the dark playing with the light....the feeling of the moth being drawn in. Too many lines I like to just pick one - the whole piece blended and went together so well.
    Great job!
